KENMORE PATIENTS GROUP MEETING

Andrew welcomed Ron and John who were attending to decide whether they might join the Group. He gave out a list of Acronyms used within the NHS to the new, and current, members.
Dr. Khan said that the results of the ballot as to whether GPs would strike is due at the end of July. If the outcome is to strike, the local LMC will issue guidelines as to what action GPs can take.
Online Consulting continues to have a very high demand, though it has reduced as a result of patients ordering repeat prescriptions via the NHS App or Patient Access. On a Monday, a GP and Care Navigator spend most of the day going through the requests which means there are less appointments with Doctors available and it takes more time to deal with enquiries on the phone and at Reception.
Dr. Khan told the Group that exercise classes have started online from 15 July for patients recently discharged from hospital after a long stay, had a fall, housebound, have poor mobility and balance and have limited access to transport. These are available Monday, 11am-12 pm and Friday,1.30-2.30 pm. There are signs in the Waiting Rooms giving more details.
Posters seeking new members to join the Group are now displayed in both Waiting Rooms.
